A couple of pieces of news today. First off, Daniel Radcliffe has apparently signed on for a part in the next series of Extras with Ricky Gervais. That should be good, I’m expecting possibly an angry teenager, maybe a spoilt megastar for his part.
Next up is the Guardian with some interesting articles on Harry Potter. Apparently Goblet of Fire is on course to be the biggest money spinner of the series so far, taking roughly £110 million ($187.5m) in it’s opening weekend around the world. It dragged the box office up 19% over last year’s figures. The latest Potter film has also had the most successful opening weekend of any film in the UK, with takings of £14.9m in three days, £14m more than any other film on release. They also have an article stating that Daniel Radcliffe is supposedly the UK’s richest teen with an estimated fortune of £23m. This is on the back of signing an £8m deal to star in the fifth film in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He only earnt £60,000 for the first film, apparently.
Last but not least, I’ve discovered my downloads section wasn’t proving up to much, so have gone the more traditional route. The Film 2005 review with Jonathon Ross is there and has now been joined by a show about the world premiere with plenty of footage of your favourite stars. Check out the new downloads page to grab them.
