Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been named book of the year at the British Book Awards (the Nibbies).
J K Rowling was quoted as saying:
I’m delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I’m honoured to receive this award.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was up against Margrave of The Marshes by John Peel & Sheila Ravenscroft, The World According to Clarkson by Jeremy Clarkson, Sharon Osbourne Extreme — My Autobiography by Sharon Osbourne, Jamie’s Italy by Jamie Oliver and The Insider by Piers Morgan.
