Not long after telling everyone at the Queen’s birthday that she would not reveal anything about what was to happen in the next Harry Potter book, Rowling told Richard and Judy on their daytime TV show that:

One character got a reprieve, but I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die.

She refused to say anymore about the plot in book seven, the final book in the Potter series, and would not tell who it was who would go, neither did she rule out it being Harry himself.

Rowling has previously said that the final book is going well, but would not give a publish date.
