The first trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is now up online over at Apple. It also has the release date: 13th July 2007.
The trailer shows that more of the new movie will be set around muggles, with London featuring in a number of backdrops. The usual cast are joined by Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange, Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge, Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood and Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks while it also sees returns for Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort, Brendan Gleeson as Alastor ‘MadÂEye’ Moody, David Thewlis as Remus Lupin, Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, Emma Thompson as Professor Sybil Trelawney and Katie Leung as Cho Chang.
The new film is directed by David Yates, who doesn’t seem to have done anything I’ve heard of, and adapted by Michael Goldenberg who wrote the 2003 version of Peter Pan, so it should be somewhat different affair.
My initial reaction to the trailer was that it looked very good, although it’s more a series of tasters with no real coherence, as you’d expect nearly eight months before release.
